However, if you do try these tips, don’t be afraid to get in touch with our team of experts here at Joe Graham Appliance Repairs on 0330 900 1966. We’ll be more than happy to help.
Your Washing Machine Has Started to Smell
If you have noticed a bad odour appearing in your machine, it can almost make you feel as though it’s not worth using it! Yet don’t panic! This is, in fact, a very frequent problem that occurs in front-loading washers.
To make sure your clothes come out clean and fresh, run an empty cycle in hot water with two cups of white vinegar and half a cup of baking soda. This should remove the smell.
You can stop this problem reoccurring by leaving the door open in between washes to make sure the inside dries out properly.
Your Refrigerator isn’t Getting Cold Enough
A refrigerator that is semi-cold is never really a good sign. In some cases, a refrigerator repair is inevitable, however, it may just need a good clean.
Unplug your refrigerator, pull it out away from the wall and give the coils on the back a good thorough vacuuming. This will typically help, but if you don’t see an immediate improvement, then it is time to call a professional.
The igniter on Gas Stove Keeps Clicking and Doesn’t Light
If you have found that your igniter on your gas stove simply just clicks and clicks without lighting the burner, try checking whether the burner cap is in place and properly aligned.
You may typically experience this problem if you’ve recently had a pan boil over or spill on the hob. Otherwise, it may be a dirty igniter. To clean this, remove the burner cap and wipe away any debris.
If this doesn’t solve the problem, never take apart a lighter without proper training and experience. Make sure to call a professional.
A Wobbling Washing Machine
A washing machine that isn’t working at its best can cause quite a racket and won’t clean clothes properly.
If you have found that yours is suddenly banging around, it may be out of plumb. To fix this, try rotating the legs of the washing machine to lift or lower each corner until it is level.
Otherwise, check whether it is off balance. Open the lid and rearrange the clothes inside until they are more evenly dispersed within the drum. This will help your washer and ensure that it doesn’t have to work as hard. However, if you do rearrange your clothes and find that there still is a problem. Don’t ignore it. You may have a loose drum or motor mounts, which a professional can easily repair.
If you ignore these problems and continue to run your machine, this could damage other major components and lead to much more costly repair bills.
